    Overall View on DABANGG - 2 -

As you watch the film, you cannot escape Salman’s star power even in the guise of a Samaritan UP cop in khakhi. He reigns supreme in every scene — be it action, song and dance or emotion. The film traces the usual cop and thief drama, with Chulbul vanquishing evil in Kanpur and turning into a legend of the UP police force, like he was in Lal Ganj.

It compels you to think if every city had even one daredevil cop like Chulbul, India would be a better and safer place. After Chulbul saves a school kid from his kidnappers who’re demanding Rs 10 lakh from his parents as ransom, Chulbul asks the father to hand over the briefcase holding the money to one of his men saying, “10 lakh uthane waale ko de sakte ho, bachane walo ko nahi?” He does make a relevant point there.

The scenes between Bachcha Bhaiya and Co and Chulbul lack the ‘Chulbul-style’ dialogue and repartees, like in the opening scene where he apprehends some kidnappers, despite excellent action shots. Though Dabangg 2 entertains, primarily because of Salman Khan, it lacks a definitive plot line and story.

The mere presence of Salman in the film makes you forget that it lacks a story; such is his persona. The film should have been titled Chulbul Pandey rather than Dabangg 2. Given that another film is being planned on the legendary cop, for starters, it could really do with an exciting title as well as a story.

The romance between Rajjo and Chulbul is tepid and, dare I say, boring, despite them being newlyweds. In fact, the scenes between Chulbul and his father are more exciting and funny! Though there is a flow to the scenes unfolding on screen, the film on the whole is not half as exciting as it could have been, given it was mounted on a sure shot, winning formula.

Arbaaz Khan, in his new role as director of the film, is the real hero here given he had the insurmountable task of taking on an extremely popular character like Chulbul and keeping it on track. I would say Arbaaz made an extremely able debut as a director. He stayed true to the legend of Chulbul Panday with his character etched out beautifully in the film, despite the obvious lack of a thrilling plot.

Salman’s performance as Chulbul is infallible and absolutely charming. To put it in Arbaaz’s words, “No one can play Chulbul like Salman – he owns Chulbul and is just brilliant as him.” Sonakshi Sinha as Chulbul’s bulbul looks and acts her part as the wife in the sequel.

Arbaaz is adorable as Makhi, as is Vinod Khanna, as the newly-minted doting father. Prakash Raj acts the part of the mean criminal-turned-politico Bachcha Singh with an exaggerated effect. Nikitan Dheer’s abs pale in comparison to Salman’s in the quintessential “flashing of abs” fight sequence but make the impact he was probably looking for!

Salman khan will appear on every scene of the whole plot . If you are a salman fan then you will love it . If you are not a salman fan watch it to become a fan .

    Sonakshi Sinha -
She plays a quite and common role in this . She looks with a same look as in Dabangg and Sonakshi is not much showcased in this flick as the major part is occupied by sallu bhai and sonu . Talking in fact  Kareena too dominated sonakshi  .

There is significant interest surrounding the forthcoming release Ishkq in Paris. This is because it is considered by many to be Preity Zinta’s major comeback after a long absence from the screen. Well there is now another reason for fans to get excited as superstar Salman Khan will be making a cameo appearance for a song in the film! The audience will soon be seeing him grooving ‘desi style’ to the song Kudiye di Kurtiwhich is composed by Sajid-Wajid. The composers have recently given us the highly addictive song ‘Mashallah’ from Ek Tha Tiger (2012).
According to reports, Salman instantly promised Preity (who is also the producer of the film) that he would make the appearance when she came to him with the concept over a year ago. There was some scepticism surrounding his ability to make it for the shooting of the song, as Salman was incredibly busy with the promotional tour for Ek Tha Tiger. However, being the professional actor that he is, Salman fully lived up to his promise and took a couple of days off from the tour in order to do the song for Preity.
In a statement to an Indian newspaper Preity expressed her joy over Salman’s appearance in Ishkq in Paris: “I love Salman for being a part of my first film as a producer. First experiences are always the most memorable and special and he has rocked the movie for me by looking so handsome and super-hot.”
Salman plays himself as a celebrity guest in a wedding scene where the leading protagonists are also present. Hopefully this will be another Salman song which will delight us Bollywood fans! Ishkq in Paris, starring Zinta and Rhehan Malliek will be releasing in cinemas on 5th October 2012.

Salman Khan in top notch form, this is his show throughout, Katrina holds her forte against superstar, Ranvir Shreoy and Girish Karnad are good, script is routine but tight, direction is super and so is editing
Ek Tha Tiger Box Office Collections Reports
1st Day Collections is 28.76 Crores
2nd Day Collections is 24.19 Crores
3rd Day Collections is 22.25 Crores
4rd Day Collections is 20.00 Crores

There are films and then there are Salman Khan films. The former kind needs a good script, good screenplay and decent acting chops to be liked. The latter kind just needs Salman Khan to be his own charming self. The problem with the Yash Raj Films produced Ek Tha Tiger is that director Kabir Khan tries to mix the two kinds of films and doesn’t quite manage to do a good job of it. A bigger problem is that Salman Khan’s charm is completely missing here.
Tiger (Salman Khan) is a RAW intelligence officer who believes in letting his punches do the talking. His latest assignment takes him to Dublin where he meets Zoya (Katrina Kaif), part-time caretaker of the scientist he has to keep an eye on. The two fall in love, but along comes a twist in the tale which turns Tiger’s life upside down. Now Tiger has to choose between his love and his duty towards his country.
Ek Tha Tiger is primarily a love story with huge doses of action thrown in. The action part works, and how! The film has some of the best action scenes in the history of Bollywood. However, they are brought down a notch by Salman’s low-on-energy body language. It doesn’t help that he looks paunchy and too out of shape for some of the stunts. The romance part just doesn’t work – neither the romantic comedy of the first half, nor the intense love story of the second half. A big part of the blame for this goes to the poor screenplay. It completely fails to engage the viewers and it is only during a handful of action scenes in the second half that one feels totally involved in the proceedings.
Since the screenplay is not engaging enough, the loopholes in the story itself become more apparent. And they are so many that they make the intelligence officers (of many countries) look plain dumb. Unfortunately, the dull and poorly picturised songs do nothing to brighten up the proceedings. The cinematography does deserve brownie points to highlight the local flavours of all the countries the protagonists travel to.
Kabir Khan made Katrina give her career best performance in New York and here again she shines as the spunky Zoya. Be it the light moments or the emotional ones, she hits the right notes. The biggest surprise of the film is how well she does the action scenes – in fact she trumps Salman in quite a few. Salman, on the other hand, looks quite uncomfortable playing the sauve intelligence agent. His dialogue delivery is monotonous and his expressions are all wrong most of the time. Like I mentioned earlier, the trademark Salman charm is missing. The supporting cast of Girish Karnad, Roshan Seth and Ranveer Shorey gives the film a next-level respectability, though none of them seem convinced with what they are doing.
Ek Tha Tiger is a film that had everything going for it – two biggest stars, high production values, immense hype, but once again the lack of a good script brought a potentially good film down. This Tiger doesn’t quite manage to roar.
