    Bipasha in Aatma Movie
    Film: Aatma
    Starring: Bipasha Basu,Nawazuddin Siddiqueui,Shernaz Patel,Jaideep Ahlawat
    Director: Suparn Verma
    Producer: Kumar Mangat Pathak,Abhishek Pathak
    Banner: Wide Frame Pictures
    Music: Sangeet Haldipur,Siddharth Haldipur

All of us - men and women, husband and wives, adults and children, have to live with our fears. Sometimes we have to die with them. That's where trouble starts in Suparn Verma's smartly-written, nimbly-executed shiver-giver which, blessedly, doesn't lapse into a gore fest... At least not until the last few reels when the body count begins to pile up faster than we can say, "Aatma".
By the end of this short-and-slick and 'eerie'-isistible horror drama, I did begin to get the feeling that the script, which had so far moved at a symmetrical even and smooth pace, kills too many people. Life is short. Shorter if you have a dead spouse determined to wrangle your only child's security by legal or other-worldly means.
Early on we see Nawazuddin as Bipasha Basu's brutal husband twisting her arm, hurling her to the floor, hurting and wounding her pride and her body. Domestic violence is a serious crime. It can get nasty and ugly on screen when put into the wrong directorial hands. Director Verma doesn't succumb to sleaze. He creates an inner-belly of monstrous disturbances underneath the smooth normal face.
At the top, the movie displays polished surfaces smiling, benignly into our faces. The director makes telling use of suburban spaces. The marble floors and the freshly-painted walls, the imported kitchen appliances, eye-catching furniture and the luminous lighting, all seem to suggest that life is beautiful.
The fissures and aberrations make themselves apparent through the fabric of normalcy until we are left gawking at the gaping wounds that fester under the smooth surface.
At heart, "Aatma" is a custody battle for a child, a "Kramer vs. Kramer", where one of the parents is dead. Imagine if Meryl Streep was dead and she wanted to take her son away from Dustin Hoffman. Nawazuddin makes a scary Streep.
Verma shoots the chilling premise with minimum ostentation. Ironically the husband, as played by the stark and startling Nawazuddin, is frighteningly demoniacal even when shown alive. In a scene that progresses effortlessly from the ordinary to the ominous Nawazuddin after losing custody battle in the judge's chamber, threatens the judge and thumbs his nose at any law that separates him from his daughter. Here, and anywhere else, living or dead, Nawazuddin's omnipresence is a terrifying prospect.
Verma makes austere use of terror tactics. Mirror images that don't match up with the people and landscape outside the mirror, a ball rolling down an empty school corridor, and in the frightening finale, Nawazuddin leading his daughter by her hand down a railway track, Verma's images are vivid and spine-tingling. He uses space to convey distances that stretch into hearts filled with emptiness.
Tragically, the terror runs out of steam mid-way and the end-game doesn't have the edge-of-the-seat scream-stifling impact that the rest of the film leads us to expect. Nonetheless, Aatma is one of the scariest films in recent times because it doesn't try to be scary. The chills come from the normal gleaming surfaces. Suparn Verma keeps the proceedings quiet, subdued and uniformly ominous. He gets able support from his editor Hemal Kothari, who gives a tightly-wound but nonetheless baggy and freewheeling feel to the footage, and from the cinematographer Sophie Winquvist, who makes Bipasha and her world look pretty, though not in a picture-postcard way.
"Aatma" features some talented actors in the cast. Shernaz Patel and Jaideeep Ahlawat get into their characters' skin without doing anything here that takes their reputation forward. The show belongs to Bipasha all the way.
After "Raaz", she once again carries the scare-fest on her shapely shoulders, feeling every minute of the single mother's terror and horror as her sadistic husband's malevolent soul takes over her life.
Bipasha seems to get better with every film.
As the director of the 2008 National Award winning Tamil film,Kanchivaram and many other classics, Priyadarshan needs no introduction nor to be questioned if he can sparkle up the screen. But not everyone remembers this and time is what it is. Although not nearly as breathtaking, Rangrezz would probably fall into the same category of films he directed as Aakrosh and Tezz, showing the serious/realistic cinema side of him. A remake from Tamil, it stars Jackky Bhagnani, Priya Anand, Vijay Verma and Amitosh Nagpal in lead roles. The original film, Naadodigal, has been remade into 4 other languages since its release in 2009. But the key here is whether Rangrezz will see the same success.

Now, we have seen our fair share of movies in Hindi cinema that depict love birds and the selfless friends that help them succeed in their love story. Yet, have we ever seen what happens to these friends AFTER the escapade they venture on, all in the name of friendship and their belief in that four letter word- LOVE. Rangrezz is about 3 men that step forward for a friend and take on the battle against the odds to get him his girl. And, after risking it all, shattering their own dreams and even losing part of themselves, what happens when they find out it’s all in vain.

This isn’t sob story. Nor is it an artsy film. It’s a commercial film. Street slang, comedy sequences and even a desi version of PSY’s Gangnam style is there but the major difference is, this is the kind of story that not only sheds light to how devoted a friend can be but also, how badly that four letter word is abused and how not every friend is worthy of a sacrifice nor every friend willing to let that fact slide.

The refreshing aspect of the film is that life is bound to introduce you to one or more of the characters in Rangrezz. A young man who dreams to go abroad. A father who is more like a best friend to his son. A girl who gives ideas to her sweetheart so she can marry him with her father’s approval. All of them. Seen them, met them or even are them. But the world isn’t perfect and there is a flip side of human nature, even if we don’t own up to it. There are those that will use and abuse that four letter word like newspaper. Purists will say love is divine and the same for all but life will show the emotion is tailored to each of us. Priyadarshan sheds light to this fact and the best bit is that it’s not an attack on love but the lovers themselves. Add in the blind faith friends go by and the outcome of inadequate understanding of relationships in a fast-food, faster-life generation run society that can and has changed lives and BOOM, Rangrezz.

With a topic that is relatable yet rips the mask off to show reality, it is imperative to have a cast that breathes life to the characters. Jackky Bhagnani plays Rishi Despande and shows much more promise (even if he still needs to work on his emotions) than his last film Ajab Ghazabb Love. Priya Anand was last seen in English Vinglish and if anyone missed her then, you will surely not miss in the role of Megha Joshi. She is cheeky cute and full of beans in a 3rd person talking role that you will learn to love. But along with Jackky, it’s his two friends that stand out the most. Amitosh Nagpal and Vijay Verma as Winu and Pakkya respectively, couldn’t be more worlds apart in their characterisation. Yet, they work amazingly well together, with Vijay stealing a little bit more limelight for sheer brilliance. Rajpal Yadav is almost a regular on Priyadarshan’s films and gets a few good lines but disappears after a while.

National award winning director-cinematographer Santhosh Sivan joins hands with Priyadarshan after almost 15 years and for those that remember their last venture, Kala Pani (dubbed as Saza-E-Kala Pani), you will remember how delightful their work together was. Rangrezz doesn’t skip a beat to their tune and its gritty dynamics make the film. With the base of the original story by director Samuthirakani intact, Mushtaq Sheikh tweaks the screenplay just enough to keep the authenticity and adaptation on par but while the adjustment is admirable, the film does flake in parts due to predictability and length. The realism in the first part of the film doesn’t continue consistently in the second, adding the woes. The editing by T.S.Suresh could have saved the film in those moments, but sadly does not, making it hard to keep the interest that the film secured in the first part.

Unfortunately, there are more woe points with the OST consisting of 2 composers. First we have Sajid-Wajid, who have clearly missed the bus on this occasion and Second, Sundar C. Babu, the original movie’s composer, making his debut in Hindi. The only song that stays with you is Shambo Shiva Shambo by Sundar which is also from the original film. Lyrically, it’s changed but the song has travelled with the story and has been used in every remake. So while OST has a 2nd version by Sajid-Wajid with Sukhwinder Singh on the mike, the impact Shankar Mahadevan has on the song is obvious and consistent as he sang for every other version of this song as well.

Dont get me wrong, Rangrezz is definitely a film to watch. Even if the diluted message may not hit as hard home as the makers wanted it too. But take along your friends for good measure, and to make up for the rest.

    Rating: 2/5
Ajay Devgn provides a convincing and respectable performance as the male protagonist and was therefore the perfect choice to headline this film. He was far more entertaining to watch in Himmatwala compared to his last film Son of Sardaar (2012), which was a pure and utter dud. The film also has South Indian actress Tamannaah making her Bollywood debut as the female lead. However, she delivers a disappointing performance and was there largely as decoration. Sridevi played the role of Rekha far better compared to Tamaannah. She is a very beautiful woman and certainly has potential to go far within the film industry. Yet she made a bad decision in choosing this film as her official Bollywood debut. Zareena Wahab, Leena Jumani and Mahesh Manjrekar were good in their supporting roles, but by no means amazing. The person who steals the film is Paresh Rawal as Sher Singh’s sidekick Narayandas. He was a delight to watch and makes you laugh out loud in a number of scenes. Paresh Rawal played this character far better than Kader Khan in the original Himmatwala. He gave his character the precise detail that was needed in order to provide a winning performance.

himmatwalareview2Himmatwala is an official remake of the 1983 release which had Jeetendra and Sridevi in the leading roles. Directed by Sajid Khan, this version stars Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah. The original, with the exception of the soundtrack, it should be asserted that the 1983 Himmatwala is by no means a classic and it contains a number of imperfections that make it a very average film overall. This remake has been updated for the new generation of cinemagoers, with the screenplay also being edited with new twists and thrills. Despite the remake containing many holes, it is still a modestly enjoyable film that will not disappoint you. Surprisingly, all together this latest version by Sajid Khan is stronger than the original Himmatwala. The story is based on Ravi (Ajay Devgn), who returns to Ramnagar village after many years, where he reunites with his mother Savitri (Zarina Wahab) and sister Padma (Leena Jumani). Ravi is determined to eliminate the bad reputation his father acquired many years ago after being defamed by the vindictive Sher Singh Bandookwala (Mahesh Manjrekar). Rekha (Tamannaah), who is Sher Singh’s daughter, is a spoilt brat who harasses people within the village. Ravi sets Rekha straight following a major incident and this ultimately results in her falling in love with him. Together, they work to teach Sher Singh a lesson and mend his ways for good. This is in addition to the twists and turns which occur as the film progresses.
Himmatwala has some silly and awkward moments which just make you want to cringe. This includes the comical re-enactment of the famous shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960). Yet that spice of entertainment is apparent in the film, which makes it a decent experience. It is a pure masala film that contains a little of everything; which includes action, romance, comedy and drama. Hence, if you enjoyed films like Dabangg (2010), then Himmatwala is certainly for you. Though some of the action sequences are far from perfect, it has been filmed very well and praise is due for the cinematography by Manoj Soni. The dramatic elements in the film have been well made and to some extent; they are stronger than the comedic elements. Sajid Khan should have corrected some of the blemishes that are visible in Himmatwala, which could have resulted in the film having a greater impact on us the viewers. Though it is a modestly entertaining film, whether it is re-watch material is indeed debatable.
One thing Sajid Khan and the producers of this remake did not manage to transfer successfully from the original Himmatwala is the soundtrack. Music duo Sajid-Wajid has recreated the classic songs ‘Nainon Mein Sapna’ and ‘Taki Taki,’ which were originally composed by Bappi Lahiri. Yet they just do not have the same magic which the original versions do in terms of composition and picturization also. Moreover, there is the atrocious track ‘Thank God It’s Friday’ where Sonakshi Sinha makes a guest appearance. This was pointlessly included in the film and could have been done without. Overall, the songs have no lasting appeal whatsoever and post-release; it is likely that they will be forgotten about.
To sum up, Himmatwala is not a perfect film, but it has that masala appeal that will certainly attract the masses rather than the classes. This film does not manage to successfully bring back the 1980s, yet there are many things about Himmatwala that make it a decent watch. Sajid Khan has not made any significant contribution to Indian cinema with this film. However, he has managed to create a film that is not a complete failure and is therefore worth a watch!

    From my view -

Race which stands on top of Bollywood race has now dropped out of race with it's second race (Race-2) . Director tried to maintain it very close to Race and failed to achieve it with a lots of distance gap . Story of movie is very complicated and you will mostly see Saif roaming in cars (Well director might have thought covering all the world in cars , boats , flights is the real RACE ) .

    Performances -

Coming to Saif performance he will be seen with the same look of Agent Vinod . Saif must have thought about his action scenes to keep in a high five but they look surprising as how a human being can be expert in all elements ( Saif ali khan turns James bond ).

Deepika has shown us some outstanding performances in her past but she proves that past is always past , She looks hot , sizzling , mind blowing but that's only one side of coin . She maintains a dumb face expression throughout the film . ( Take a bow Deepika for managing same expressions through out the film ) .

Jacqueline has been used to say dialogues , where jhon while bright your eyes in certain intervals of time . Anil kapoor has become advanced in this than in Race 1st part . He got advanced in making his fruits to fruit juice drinking them all over movie . Ooops shares with Ameesha patel too .

    Pros -

    • Rich look

    • World tours

    • Glamour

    • John

    • RACE 1

    Cons -

    • Story

    • Direction

    • Grip less concept

    • Screenplay

    • Plot of story

    Overall view on it -

Race-2 is watchable once for Directors try to inject some twists in a concept less story . Actors performance and stunts are done ( actually shown well ) well .

    Final verdict -

RACE went out of Track ..!!

    Overall View on DABANGG - 2 -

As you watch the film, you cannot escape Salman’s star power even in the guise of a Samaritan UP cop in khakhi. He reigns supreme in every scene — be it action, song and dance or emotion. The film traces the usual cop and thief drama, with Chulbul vanquishing evil in Kanpur and turning into a legend of the UP police force, like he was in Lal Ganj.

It compels you to think if every city had even one daredevil cop like Chulbul, India would be a better and safer place. After Chulbul saves a school kid from his kidnappers who’re demanding Rs 10 lakh from his parents as ransom, Chulbul asks the father to hand over the briefcase holding the money to one of his men saying, “10 lakh uthane waale ko de sakte ho, bachane walo ko nahi?” He does make a relevant point there.

The scenes between Bachcha Bhaiya and Co and Chulbul lack the ‘Chulbul-style’ dialogue and repartees, like in the opening scene where he apprehends some kidnappers, despite excellent action shots. Though Dabangg 2 entertains, primarily because of Salman Khan, it lacks a definitive plot line and story.

The mere presence of Salman in the film makes you forget that it lacks a story; such is his persona. The film should have been titled Chulbul Pandey rather than Dabangg 2. Given that another film is being planned on the legendary cop, for starters, it could really do with an exciting title as well as a story.

The romance between Rajjo and Chulbul is tepid and, dare I say, boring, despite them being newlyweds. In fact, the scenes between Chulbul and his father are more exciting and funny! Though there is a flow to the scenes unfolding on screen, the film on the whole is not half as exciting as it could have been, given it was mounted on a sure shot, winning formula.

Arbaaz Khan, in his new role as director of the film, is the real hero here given he had the insurmountable task of taking on an extremely popular character like Chulbul and keeping it on track. I would say Arbaaz made an extremely able debut as a director. He stayed true to the legend of Chulbul Panday with his character etched out beautifully in the film, despite the obvious lack of a thrilling plot.

Salman’s performance as Chulbul is infallible and absolutely charming. To put it in Arbaaz’s words, “No one can play Chulbul like Salman – he owns Chulbul and is just brilliant as him.” Sonakshi Sinha as Chulbul’s bulbul looks and acts her part as the wife in the sequel.

Arbaaz is adorable as Makhi, as is Vinod Khanna, as the newly-minted doting father. Prakash Raj acts the part of the mean criminal-turned-politico Bachcha Singh with an exaggerated effect. Nikitan Dheer’s abs pale in comparison to Salman’s in the quintessential “flashing of abs” fight sequence but make the impact he was probably looking for!

    Who all are highlighted -

    Salman khan -
It's a complete Salman khan plot and he is the correct justification for it . Chulbul pandey is back with a big bang at the box office . Salman khan will appear on every scene of the whole plot . If you are a salman fan then you will love it . If you are not a salman fan watch it to become a fan .

    Sonakshi Sinha -
She plays a quite and common role in this . She looks with a same look as in Dabangg and Sonakshi is not much showcased in this flick as the major part is occupied by sallu bhai and sonu . Talking in fact  Kareena too dominated sonakshi  .

    Is it watchable -

Yes you can watch it if you watched Dabangg and Liked it , then you are not gonna miss this.

    Why to watch DABANGG - 2 -

    • Salman khan
    • Kareena item song
    • Music
    • Direction
    • Comedy
    • Concluding scenes both 1st & 2nd half's.

What to be Ignored in DABANGG-2 -

About JAB TAK HAI JAAN :

An Yash Chopra movie is always an event to celebrate love, and now its again time to celebrate the love. This movie makes you gain faith in love again and makes you fall in love. It will want you to search your soul mate. May be i spoke much, but after You watch the movie, you will understand.

The film as some touch of both "dil to pagal hai" and "veer-zara". It is a story which rarely happens. and it has some real twists and turns.

Sharukh Khan plays a fun loving youth in London and he charms through out that phase. His chemistry and physics(yes!) with katrina is awsome and realy romantic and will be loved by everyone. In the 2nd phase his character(Samar) remains arrogant, angry, grim... as a bomb disposal squad member. Film has some awsome smooches, which we had never seen before in any of Sharukh Khan's Movies.

Katrina Kaif has Meera has given her best acting performance ever (by far now). Her galmours acts will defenetly attract us. Anushka Sharma has Akeera has given her best too... she has given breezy performance. she gives some really touchy moments especially with her expressive eyes.

Cinematagraphy by Anil Mehta is breathtaking and kashmir is awwww!!!

Music master A.R.Rahman has given his best but not has great as "Veer-Zara". But the music specially makes us feel every moment.

Last not but not least, Direction by the late Yash Chopra is the best. he gives us a classic film, with his fantastic direction skills. He has his own style in  potraying a person in the romantic role. I give No. positin for that style.

Finally to say... "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" is an heart touching emotional blockbuster !!!!!!! Everyone can not only enjoy the movie but more than that.

    PLUS:-

    • Sharukh khan's best romantic perfomance
    • Katrina Kaif's best acting performances till now

    About CHAKRAVYUH -

There is a war raging in India. A war whose end can’t be seen. A war that isn’t being waged by outsiders. The enemy is our own! The youth of the country are rebelling.. Against injustice, against tyranny, against exploitation. Inequality will not be tolerated forever. There is anger, and there is deep social unrest. Our own countrymen are locked in the bloodiest armed mutiny this country has ever seen.

Chakravyuh is the story of six extraordinary characters, each with an all-consuming dream.. A promise.. A promise they will uphold above everything else.

Adil Khan (Arjun Rampal): The Cop. Strong-willed, courageous, and regarded as one of the most dependable badges in the force. Driven by one overriding goal: The rule of law has to reign supreme. And, anyone who breaks it, is his enemy. Period! A loving husband, a vigorous lover..
And above all, a true friend!

Kabir (Abhay Deol): The Rebel. Born off the streets, a man with no history. Impulsive, totally free-spirited, the quintessential rolling stone. With the heart of a lion, he lives on the edge, thriving on danger. He has only one anchor in life – his friendship with Adil. To whom he owes everything... For whom he will do anything. Anything at all!

Rhea Menon (Esha Gupta): The Strategist. A brilliant intelligence officer, an expert in interrogation. She fights hard, and she loves hard. She is Adil Khan’s wife, and co-soldier, she loves and fights shoulder to shoulder with him.

Rajan (Manoj Bajpayee): The Revolutionary. The most feared man in the region, this mysterious leader will not stop until he has fulfilled his promise... Of turning helplessness into empowerment, of replacing suffering with justice.. Of destroying the oppressor! Loved by his people, hated by his enemies, Rajan is unstoppable!

Juhi (Anjali Patil): The Warrior. Born in poverty and misery, raised in oppression and cruelty... until she picked up the gun! And with that came a purpose - To fight for liberation, for freedom. STUDENT 0F THE YEAR is amongst Karan J0har's most accomplished works. The youth brigade would love it and those who have already past that age would want to revisit those days. This one's entertainment, entertainment and entertainment at its best. Clearly, KJ0 has a winner on hands, yet again!

The performance of the Debutants is awsome and with there first movie they had shown that they can give tough competition to the now actors and actress...

    Cast-J.D.Chakravarthy, Manisha koirala.

    Director- Ram gopal varma.

Sadly, for a man like varma, who is many wonderful hits, had made a worst movie ever of his.

The story is very dull and slow. It is very slow that, manisha koirala takes 3 min to walk down to 7 step stairs,. We wil be watching her put one foot infront of other for 3 min, after which she climbs the same stairs.

The only entertainment i was having while watching the movie was, comments of fellow people around me.

    The 5 hilarious comments are:-

    1. What's the time? One hour didnt finish yet?

    2. Why there is no morning in the house?

    3. Why is it full moon every night?

    4. Why is bhooth telling bhoooøoth?

    5. It's RGV's worst movie.

    does it deserve 1 ?

There are films and then there are Salman Khan films. The former kind needs a good script, good screenplay and decent acting chops to be liked. The latter kind just needs Salman Khan to be his own charming self. The problem with the Yash Raj Films produced Ek Tha Tiger is that director Kabir Khan tries to mix the two kinds of films and doesn’t quite manage to do a good job of it. A bigger problem is that Salman Khan’s charm is completely missing here.
Tiger (Salman Khan) is a RAW intelligence officer who believes in letting his punches do the talking. His latest assignment takes him to Dublin where he meets Zoya (Katrina Kaif), part-time caretaker of the scientist he has to keep an eye on. The two fall in love, but along comes a twist in the tale which turns Tiger’s life upside down. Now Tiger has to choose between his love and his duty towards his country.
Ek Tha Tiger is primarily a love story with huge doses of action thrown in. The action part works, and how! The film has some of the best action scenes in the history of Bollywood. However, they are brought down a notch by Salman’s low-on-energy body language. It doesn’t help that he looks paunchy and too out of shape for some of the stunts. The romance part just doesn’t work – neither the romantic comedy of the first half, nor the intense love story of the second half. A big part of the blame for this goes to the poor screenplay. It completely fails to engage the viewers and it is only during a handful of action scenes in the second half that one feels totally involved in the proceedings.
Since the screenplay is not engaging enough, the loopholes in the story itself become more apparent. And they are so many that they make the intelligence officers (of many countries) look plain dumb. Unfortunately, the dull and poorly picturised songs do nothing to brighten up the proceedings. The cinematography does deserve brownie points to highlight the local flavours of all the countries the protagonists travel to.
Kabir Khan made Katrina give her career best performance in New York and here again she shines as the spunky Zoya. Be it the light moments or the emotional ones, she hits the right notes. The biggest surprise of the film is how well she does the action scenes – in fact she trumps Salman in quite a few. Salman, on the other hand, looks quite uncomfortable playing the sauve intelligence agent. His dialogue delivery is monotonous and his expressions are all wrong most of the time. Like I mentioned earlier, the trademark Salman charm is missing. The supporting cast of Girish Karnad, Roshan Seth and Ranveer Shorey gives the film a next-level respectability, though none of them seem convinced with what they are doing.
Ek Tha Tiger is a film that had everything going for it – two biggest stars, high production values, immense hype, but once again the lack of a good script brought a potentially good film down. This Tiger doesn’t quite manage to roar.

    Director- Homi Adajania

    Music Director- Pritam
    Genre- Romantic Comedy
    Release Date- 13th July, 2012
    Rating: ★★★☆☆
Saif Ali Khan, the man who has been endowing the world of Hindi cinema with his acting skills for years, comes up with his latest outing ‘Cocktail’, a rom com to allure his audiences. His lover boy image still goes on supremely though he has crossed 40 but the age does not matter at all for this man who still looks fresh and is liked to be watched in a role of a romantic guy. In this flick, he continues with his tradition to be a lover boy romancing two vivacious and sexy girls.
Cocktail tells the story of three characters – Veronica, Guatam and Meera. Veronica likes Gautam and he likes her as well. But then unthinkable happens Gautam loses his heart to Meera.
The concept of Cocktail is not novel at all in Hindi cinema, as we have grown up watching the movies on this subject. But in this offering of Homi Adajania, the three lives together blissfully under one roof and enjoys each other’s company. Cocktail appeals to the hearts due to its fun stuff, being a rom com, having international look and brilliant eye-pleasing styling.
The film talks about the three characters which are different from each other – Gautam is contemptible and wacky in nature, Veronica is wild whereas Diana is a simpleton.
Gautam (Saif Ali Khan) is a flirt and has affair with Veronica, the wild babe. They are in no commitment relationship. Meera (Diana Penty) is a best friend of Veronica and they live together. Both Veronica and Meera have different natures but they come close to each other and turn best pals. Meera, the simpleton girl who is quite desi at heart, does not like Gautam. But soon the unbelievable takes place and the two – Meera and Guatam start loving each other.
The movie has true urban and chic look which is the plus point of the film. The three characters’ laughter and their enjoying life king size add sparkles to the movie’s worth. Director Homi Adajania, who made his Bollywood debut with Being Cyrus, executes the script brilliantly on celluloid with fabulous ease.  It is a complex flick that shows off the particulars and the complexities of human relationships. Where the movie is laced with fun moments, laughter and urban feel, it also carries the emotions. The styling (as mentioned above) and the visuals are first rate and allure the souls at once. The biggest highlight of the film is the three characters’ characterization which has been done with absolute care.
The story, as depicted above, is not novel but interests the viewers. Imtiaz Ali’s screenplay has been written luminously but it definitely has drawbacks and faults. The first half of the movie is superb getting swathed with fun moments and pleasurable sequences to enjoy with. The second half is lethargic in pace and becomes stretched. You even start getting bored. Besides all this, a number of songs too spoil the pleasures.
Music by Pritam is melodious and Tumhi Ho Bandhu, Jugni (sung by Pakistani singer Arif Lohar) and Second Hand Jawani appeal to the souls. Salim-Sulaiman’s background music is well composed. Dialogues are okay not extraordinary. Styling is simply fabulous and Anaita Shroff Adajania deserves the brawny points for the job. Anil Mehta’s cinematography is brilliant since it gives you international feel. The international locales have been captured marvelously. Editing is below average.
This is one of Saif Ali Khan’s best performances so far in his career. Saif loots the hearts with superb acting. Deepika Padukone delivers her career’s best. After Love Aaj Kal, both Saif and Deepika have shared the screen space together. Dian Penty makes her fantastic Bollywood debut with this film. She does not show that she is a debutante. Dimple Kapadia impresses with her part. Boman Irani is first rate. Rest of the cast is awesome as well.
    Final Verdict by the Critic:
Cocktail is a brilliant movie with urban look, international feel and marvelous performances. Don’t consider the poor second half just enjoy the film.

    Movie Details:
Saif Ali Khan-owned production house Illuminati Films is coming up with a romantic comedy movie named ‘Cocktail’. The film is also named as ‘Production No. 3’, and is directed by Homi Adajania, of ‘Being Cyrus’ fame. Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan will be producing the movie, which stars Saif, Deepika Padukone and newcomer Diana Penty in the lead roles.
This will be the third time that Saif and Deepika will be seen together in a film, after ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and ‘Aarakshan’. The film is basically a love triangle and initially, Imran Khan was chosen to play the lead character opposite Deepika.
The film’s shooting began in London around end-May 2011. Scenes have been shot on streets like Borough High Street, Portobello Road, Piccadilly Circus, Borough Market, Clapham Junction, Mayfair, Leicester Square, Bank Station, Brick Lane and many others. The crew has had another shooting schedule of 20 days in Cape Town (South Africa), but it faced a lot of weather problems.
It is known that Deepika has grooved to a party song on a table, in The Grand nightclub, and is quite similar to the sequence from ‘Love Aaj Kal’ where she danced on a table in the song ‘Chor Bazaari’. The scene also saw the use of club lights and a DJ being hired to play the music, to give the song a realistic look.
Music director Pritam will be scoring for the film. Neeraj Sridhar will sing a friendship song. A Pakistani song, whose rights have been bought by the makers, will be revised and sung in the film. Written by Imtiaz Ali, the film is eyeing a 13th July, 2012 release.
